Request for examples on behalf of the LGA – technology and digital exemplars #tech&digiexemplars

04 April 2014

The Local Government Association invites you to share your examples of good practice using technology and digital tools or approaches. We are partnering with RedQuadrant to help capture your stories in a report. Shortlisted case studies will be showcased at the LGA conference in Bournemouth in July 2014.

Our objective is to capture existing examples that clearly demonstrate benefits to customers and financial savings for councils. We will use these case studies to highlight good practice examples of where councils are already using technology and digital tools and approaches.

The examples we are looking for include:
• The use of technology e.g. telehealth/telecare solutions,
• The use of Apps e.g. the bin app developed by South Oxfordshire
• The use of website e.g. the Family Space portal developed by LB Croydon
• The use of digital e.g. use of iPads to address loneliness as applied by Central Bedfordshire

The projects must have already been delivered and must be able to demonstrate the following:
b) improved access to local public services
c) improved customer experience, and
d) savings delivered for the public purse.

How you can participate:
We are looking for an overview of the market and good practice in areas set out above. We will then select a few for a final detailed case study.

Please send us
1. Your contact details and either

2. A link to an existing case study or

3. A couple of paragraphs outlining your project, the benefits for customers and savings made.

Please note that we will not be able to use all examples permitted - but all of them will help to build a good overview of the landscape. We are happy to link to existing materials - final case studies will require 'vox pop' videos with key stakeholders. We require real savings already delivered and documented in local governemnt for full case studies

If you have examples that you would like to share please contact Ben Taylor – or 079 3131 7230 for a further discussion.

The deadline for returns is Friday 11 April 2014.

We look forward to hearing from you.
