Evidence from practice

Birmingham: sustaining a group of co-producers

Published practitioner account with named client testimony · 2022–2025

Starting situation

Birmingham commissioned a co-produced review of day opportunities following the pandemic.

Work undertaken

RedQuadrant recruited and supported people with lived experience and carers to co-lead the review. The published account describes a second phase and a 23-member Empowering People Team.

What is reported

The account reports that findings informed commissioning and improvement plans, and that members continued into other co-production work. The client describes growing confidence and further involvement.

Evidence and limits

These are practitioner and client accounts, rather than an independent impact evaluation. The published evidence does not isolate effects on all day-opportunity users.
