Relational commissioning

Change the arrangements around one live commissioning relationship.

The starting problem

People’s situations cross service categories, while contracts, measures, and decisions often reinforce the boundaries. A relational commissioning reset brings commissioners, providers, practitioners, and people with direct experience into the same inquiry.

A six-week reset

Guide fee: £12,000 excluding VAT for up to eight consultant days over six weeks, focused on one existing commissioning relationship. The scope includes review of up to eight supplied documents, up to six interviews, two half-day working sessions for up to 16 people, and a draft operating and learning agreement. Travel and venue costs are agreed separately.

Practical outputs

You leave with a shared account of the problem, proposed changes to measures and decision rights, a draft learning and escalation rhythm, and a short implementation plan with responsibilities. Contract changes proceed through your own commercial and legal approval arrangements.

What makes it work

A commissioner and provider sponsor the work together. Participants bring a live situation, access to relevant evidence, and willingness to examine what their own arrangements make possible. Any further service redesign or legal drafting is scoped separately.
